Call for Papers – Submit by 1st June, 2016

Organisers are pleased to invite the submission of abstracts for presentations at The GAP Workshop in Rockhampton, October 2016. The theme for the conference is Giving Animals Purpose.

This Workshop aims to explore the diverse ways in which training and conditioning programs can add purpose to the lives of the animals in our care.  Papers are sought that cover all aspects of animal training and conditioning including, but not limited to, training for medical procedures, enrichment programs, service animals, military/defence, entertainment and conservation.

If you are involved in training or conditioning animals for any purpose and passionate about your programs, we invite you to share your triumphs and challenges with industry colleagues to contribute to a greater understanding and appreciation of this complex and diverse field.  Presentations will be 10-15 minutes long and may also include practical demonstrations* where circumstances permit (*please include details in your abstract). The usual AV presentation tools will be available to support your delivery. Abstracts should be prepared using the attached template and lodged via Email to TheGap@rrc.qld.gov.au by close of business 1st June, 2016.

Please include the following information in your response to the call for papers.
•        Title of Proposal
•        Name and contact details of individual and/or organisation delivering the presentation
•        Abstract of the proposal (no more than 250 words)
